Back Injection

Back injection is based on an one step injection molding process. A textile or film is overmolded within the tool. The component includes function and decoration without a separate bonding system.

Advantage of the process:

• Cost effective one step process
• No solvent based bonding systems, no emission in the compartment of the car

Applications:

• Pillar trims
• Door Innerliner

Cost efficiency can be significantly increased by the combination of the back injection process with the inmold cutting process. A separate cutting step after molding is not needed and there is no scrap rate for manual cutting at the end of the value chain. The cutting process is included in the IMCmore®-process.
